Lights Out Texas

August 15th – November 30th, 2021, 11pm-6am

Did you know that over 400 species of birds are currently flying south over Texas to return to their warmer winter homes? With the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, it’s been difficult to find live events, but this one will fly directly to you. The majority of these birds migrate at night which means mornings are a great time to observe birds touching down to rest and refuel from your window or your local park. In the evenings you can help keep the birds on track by turning off unused outside and indoor lights, drawing curtains, and ensuring necessary lights are shielded or directed downwards.
